Impact Lab: Claude Code agents on 114 Mexico City open datasets
The Claude Impact Lab proposed something different: a full day of collaborative building —no competition, no prizes— on a huge, underused public resource: the 114+ open datasets from Mexico City's Digital Agency for Public Innovation (ADIP).
Teams worked with mentors expert in the Claude API, agents, MCP and AI architectures, with Saptiva AI, Zillow México and Tavily as allies. Mobility, safety, environment: the city's problems became specs, and the specs became working agents.
The format proved something we say a lot: civic AI doesn't need to wait for anyone. The data is already public, the tools already exist — what's missing is getting the right people in the same room. We did, and we'll do it again.
